10 ~ comparing those worlds to this boring, normal life [audio/picture]

['Well. It sure got cold pretty fast, huh? Which means that I'm rapidly approaching the one-year mark, so I should really be proud. Or something. After burrowing myself away to avoid complications from refugees, my antisociality has reached a certain limit.

Unfortunately, I also have nothing to contribute beyond the observation about the weather which I already blithely used up there! Not that people can read my thoughts, but if they could, they'd find out. Well, they'd find out a lot of things. But who would want to anyway? It would just go on and on without any point.

Anyway, I guess I'll poorly disguise my attempt to see who's up for a random conversation with some kind of opener. Hey, if I were at home, this would be a mind-scarring Omegle session or something. At least I'm pretty sure I won't run into the usual problems stranger-chatting over the journal.'

So I found this in a book the other day.



Maybe this doesn't work as well over the journal, but I thought it was cool, anyway. Or at least different from discussions about fire and eternal suffering, continued kidnapping, disappearance, reappearance, cross-dressing, and so on.

I think they must make the outline first, and then decide what to fill it in with, right?

But the filling in part is difficult.. you need to think about what still makes it seem natural. At least, I think that's how it works..?

Oh, yeah, I'm sure that's right. Well, why don't you try it, Madoka-chan?

Me?! [ she gasps. ] N-.. no, there's no way I could do that! I mean.. um.. it's probably too difficult for someone like me..!

.. Well.. I'm not really special or anything, right? If anything, I'm just about average in everything, or even a little below that.

Hmm. No, I don't think that's accurate at all, Madoka-chan. You're extremely special, and certainly not average in everything. Top of the class in kindness, similar scores for effort, ... ['well below average in intelligence...'] ... very high on the curve for friendliness and likability, below average in common sense, way above average in cuteness, and very bad at accurately assessing yourself.

Speaking of which, what have you been up to recently?

Um.. not too much, I guess? [ she pauses to think, but then seems to remember something. ] Oh, I remember! I joined the art club here, or at least, I went to their meeting.. it was sort of fun, even if it was a little difficult too.

There's an art club, huh? ['Doesn't speak highly of her capacity for that club if she didn't even see the face in this picture, but let's ignore that for the moment.']

Did you draw anything?

We all tried drawing something! In the end I made.. um, I guess you can say it's a landscape of sorts, but it's not any existing one!

Oh. Uh, what is it, then? Something you just made up? Is it Mars or something?

I guess it's just a non-existing one? You see, I made the pink and the grass pink, and I don't think that actually exists somewhere..

.. Although.. I've never seen anything on Mars before. [ but since he said it-- ] Have you, then?

Well, I used to think that girls with pink hair didn't exist, at least without dye, but I've been proven wrong about that, too.

--Uh, so I mean, I've never seen Mars up close, but I'm pretty sure that that's not the way it's different from the Earth.
