5 ~ Every one of my classmates shared the same look of disbelief [audio]
['Well, it's been a while since Valentine's. Maybe I can show my face on the journal again. Well, so to speak. My tiny icon. Whatever. After having laid low for a while, it should be safe, right?'
And so this rather lackadaisical message appears on the journal.]
Has anyone ever had that feeling where you anticipate something bad happening for a while, but when it actually comes to pass, it's just confusing instead? And then disappointing.
Actually, I guess that would be a good way to describe everything... simply confusing. Anyway. I guess there are New Feathers coming around here, too. My advice for you would be to suspend disbelief and just move on with your life as soon as you can. Helpful, I know. Well, good luck.
Oh, and I guess Haruhi would want me to say... if you need to talk about your problems, the SOS Brigade is here. So there's that.
Well, I hope everyone I haven't talked to in a while is okay and all that, and later.

I didn't know you were part of the Brigade, Kyon-kun.

You mean, back home?

...I'm surprised you didn't know it already.

Well, I don't stick my nose into brigade stuff often.

It's a rather complicated issue, I suppose. No, it's not that bad. [He filters it to her, just as a standard thing to do.]
It's not what I'm used to here, though. And considering how much getting used to it took at home... Well, I'm not sure I can go through the getting used to process once more.
['In short, I'm being used.']
...But I suppose that's pretty uninteresting to you, Rise-chan.
filter;
Sure, Rise's heard of Haruhi before (who hasn't? She's Luceti-famous) but to warrant a filter all the same...well, whatever it was probably wasn't meant for the other girl's ears. Hmm.]
No, no, it's...
Well, it sounds like it's been pretty tough for you.
[And judging by how active the Brigade is, organising stuff? She can only imagine how much busier it is back where he comes from.]
Don't you get a grace period for getting used to stuff for coming here late?
filter;
Anyway, it hasn't been all that much tougher than on others, I imagine. Not to turn away your sympathy or anything.
Incidentally, how long have you been here?
filter;
Well, about a year and a half...maybe a little more. It's kinda hard to keep count sometimes. [...] But it's starting to sound like I had a way easier time than you've had.
filter;
And the social stuff is... always complicated, so that's just how it is.
filter;
Well, I don't think another welcome will make it any different but if you need anyone to talk to, think of me, okay? I don't mind listening.
filter;
I don't mind talking, either. But where to even begin, though?
filter;
filter;

filter;
Well... If you have time, then, maybe I can tell you over a cup of tea or whatever.
filter;
filter;
Would you mind getting a meal tonight, then?
filter;
[Y'know, despite what she just said. She does sound apologetic, though.]
filter;
['Don't sink too much, heart.']
Well, that's all right then. Some other time.
filter;
It's a rain check. Promise.
