And just to clarify typography in his tags which may be confusing:
Normal text is speech.
[Action brackets are what they usually are.]
['Small italics in single quotes'] represent Kyon's internal narration, a prominent feature of his in canon. Usually commentary.
And if you ever have the misfortune of writing prose with me, you may notice that it switches tenses and POV, to some extent, e.g.:
I'm adopting this system because of his narration style in canon (which is first person and doesn't always differentiate between thoughts and speech--though I won't do that latter part), but if you'd prefer more straightforward tags (without narration) just let me know here.

For some reason, Kyon preferred that someone this persistent would just have his nickname. "Kyon," he said. "At least, that's what people call me." Is that what assassins say about their names, too?
